Interest in the School’s history was sparked by the celebration of its one-hundredth birthday in 1995.  From this, the idea of collecting, preserving, and displaying our history was born – and so began the Watts School of Nursing History Project. This venture combines the resources and talents of the school and the Watts School of Nursing Alumni Association.

 

Now in its twelfth year of existence, the history project’s holdings serve as a reminder to alumni of the journey they shared and as an inspiration to current students of what lies ahead. Our holdings include historical reports, hospital publications, newspaper articles, school catalogues, ceremonial programs, photographs, letters, curriculum plans, textbooks, class scrapbooks, uniforms, caps, capes, pins, and medical equipment. 

 

A current focus of the history project is the collection of personal data and memories of our graduates. To this end, we have developed a questionnaire with two versions covering different periods of the school’s history.
